Like a lover who accuses you of cheating, because they are themselves cheating. The projection of their own crimes onto others is not a clever scheme, at least not chiefly, but is a coping mechanism. It is paranoia, rooted in their own decrepit nature. And their own crimes over the millenia have been much worse than anything the Gerries might have done. By an order of magnitude. As we learn more about these vermin creatures who seek no other end than world domination and establishment of their diabolical reign over a shackled and enslaved populace, we can see that this is not an intelligent scheme.
