Compound nests (xenobiosis) involve two species of ants living together in the same nest but keeping their broods separate. It includes casual or regular nesting in close vicinity (plesiobiosis), stealing food from other species (cleptobiosis), stealing brood (lestobiosis) and sharing nests and trails (parabiosis).

Mixed colonies comprise temporary parasites, slave-makers (dulosis) and inquilines, where the host workers care for the parasite brood, at least temporarily.

Welcome to Earth, where many species inferior to Man have been subjugated for Man's benefit, including the occasional inferior sub-breed of one of our cousins in the Primate family. Besides, the difference between Eastern Man and Western Man isn't that one is more or less inclined to exploit humanoids, both sides of the world conquered and enslaved Others, that's just inevitable when competing for survival and dominance.

The difference between Eastern Man and Western Man is that Western Man cooperates on an intellectual level and Eastern man cooperates on an instinctual level. Western Man has developed a sense of honor and duty and empathy and compassion that has him choosing the right path as an individual based on abstract principles rather than on having authority figures order him to stay on the path laid out by society, which is how the Bug people handle it.

Western man tries to be good because he believes in his heart that that is the best thing for his people. Eastern Man tries to be good so that he isn't punished because all authority is external in his world. Western Man has a Conscience. Eastern Man, typically, lacks a Conscience, unless he was exposed to Western values enough to convert him.
