Anyone know why a cpl NatSoc’s like the guys on FTN would call the old communist leader of Romania, Nikolai Ceausescu, based?

“An actually based guy from history, so much so they had to shot him on Christmas Day”.

Nowhere else in that podcast or any of their other episodes have I heard them talk about the guy at all or explain that opinion. And it didn’t seem like a joke at all.

Seems pretty out of the ordinary for a cpl NatSoc’s to praise a communist dictator, unless he’s got some history of purging Romania of their Jews.

There were elements of the Iron Guard regime that joined the Romanian security state. The main point however is that Ceausescu encouraged population growth by banning contraceptives, government childcare programs, and giving large families better apartments. Ceausescu was building a kind of nationalist mythology for Romania, much like Hoxha in Albania, or more obviously, Kim Il-Sung in North Korea.

Interesting. I don’t have any real knowledge or context for Eastern European history other then some Soviet. As far as the FTN guys go, it still seems like a strange endorsement for an unrepentant iron curtain dictator.

Maybe they're Nazbol now? I haven't listen in several years, and don't really care to.
