Also worth mentioning that back when gun racks like that were common, so were single cab trucks. Now with most being ex cab or crew cab theres lots more room to put guns and gear making less of a need for a rack like that.

Trucks have come a long way. Still can't believe they used to put the gas tank right behind the bench seat, haha.

I used to drive a work truck like that. It was a flat bed truck and had such a tank. We also had a side tank and a switch on the left side of the driver's seat to switch tanks.

I miss my dad's sparkly blue, square body, single cab, bench seat, 4x4, lifted, manual trans, dual gas tank, wing windows, F250. Thing was awesome. Always started in 2nd because 1st was so low. You could let it idle in 1st while walking beside it throwing stuff in the bed.
