Obviously the French didn't care.

Didn't they?

I get the impression that French opposition to the german occupation is greatly overstated.

It is greatly overstated. And that's an understatement.

It is likely that the majority even welcomed or were at least neutral about the German occupation.

That is seen in other nations as well. Many countries welcomed SS troops as liberators.

This makes the most sense as the "international Jewish bankers" was on the tip of the average man's tongue in the 1920s-30s, and not some "fringe" internet thing the way we think about it today. I believe when we finally wake up to what is truly "The Myth of the 20th Century" a not insignificant percentage of the population will be shocked to the point of mental health issues by the lie we've been living in all our lives.

I think most people even in this community still don't quite have a grasp on how close we were to an awakening going into the 1930s, and how the entire force of propaganda since then has been to utilized to forget that ever happened.
