Glad you posted this. Someone last week had some great screen captures of the Weimar Republic that resembled the pedo joe cabinet.

1941, The Year Germany Lost the War, by Andrew Nagorski.

This is a superb insight into what led up to the war and how Germany lost it.

A Man Called Intrepid by William Stevenson gives a VERY intimate view of the main characters on the Allied side and how they interacted from the 1920's through the end of WW2 to win it.
