Grand Orient is not the AF&AM Masons you see in your local town, those are old men playing dress up. If you want proof of this google your local masonic lodge, grand lodge, scottish rite or whatever and then cross reference the leaders of those organizations with their CV's on linkedin. They are NOT men of power and influence.
Masonry in the 20th century fractured into about a dozen jurisdictions. Maybe some of them are more political, but the ones you see advertising on TV are NOT.
Freemason lodges are the bottom tier pawns. Of course they don't contain people of serious power, they're the network that allows jewry to spread into every small town possible.
Do you know if the Elks Club are masons?
They are similar in structure to the masons in terms of ritual as they were founded by masons, but they are not powerful from what I can tell
