Hitler was a goofball and a slave to his own ideology. He had a dozen ways to win WW2 and only two or three ways to lose it and he found one of the ways to lose. He absolutely did not need to invade Russia or to kill every Jew in the world and he absolutely needed to have a basic plan for waging war against England.
