ublock origin and ghostery alone. No pop ups whatsoever or ads... on their default settings even. if you use the add on called 'adblocker' It lets a ton of ads thru from sources that pay them.
You'll even notice your browser runs slightly quicker. Ghostery has some opt ins to disable but is also open source these days like ublock origin. the dev gorhill is the shit mang. The ads others complain about I generally never see and there's a point and right click interface to remove any site elements you don't like but aren't necessarily ads.
