Indo-Aryans carrying R1a1a lineages expanded westward thousands of years ago, conquering and populating territories as far west as Europe. They were the most successful conquerors in human history. Their descendants are the Slavs (Russians, Ukrainians, Czechs, Poles, Slovaks, Serbs, Croats, Macedonians, etc.), the Scandinavians, and many others.
Macedonians were Greek and Great Alexander reached the frontiers of India during his expeditions, and it was probably the first contact between the different people. So claiming that Macedonians were of Hindu origin is certainly laughable. I don't see how the statues at the top of the article have anything to do with India.
As for genetics, gypsies are known to be of Indian origin. So one can say that there is Indian genetic influence in Europe, but certainly nothing to be proud of.
There have been many similar theories, including aryanic, indo-aryanic and nordic theories, and while I see every one of them has many proponents, I wouldn't give them much credit.
