As for genetics, gypsies are known to be of Indian origin. So one can say that there is Indian genetic influence in Europe, but certainly nothing to be proud of. There have been many similar theories, including aryanic, indo-aryanic and nordic theories, and while I see every one of them has many proponents, I wouldn't give them much credit.
