It was called rolling somebody. So they called it being rick rolled. All around the world people were clicking on links only to be fooled into listening to this frigging song. It caught on like a wildfire. People were getting upset. It was.genuinely funny for a while. Oddly it kept going. People got better and better at masquerading a Rick roll. And would come in when you least suspected it. It is still evolving today. In the year 2021, it has apparently evolved to a still jpeg of a wheel of fortune meme. The fact that people were able to even deconstruct this is homage to how legendary this meme has become .
