This would have been a easy Axis victory if it wasnt for the Soviet champagne. Russians made better tanks and aircraft using mostly guesswork, while under German attacks, but still better then British and Muricans.

Its so sad.

The advanced tank suspensions were of American design. The American military passed. The germans used it. The germans had the Soviets build them.

The official story is the Soviets were so stupid they thought the most advanced heavy tracked suspension in the world was for use on farm tractors. Of course no educated person believes that. But that's the (((official))) story.

America's position was quantity and reliability over quality. The Sherman medium being their fielded ideal.

Germany went for quality over quantity. Frequently caught by immature innovation. Their advanced suspension choice was a good one and provided significant advantages; including faster speeds, higher accuracy on the move, and less fatigued crews.

The Soviets went with quantity of anything they could get to move. Taking the quantity over quality to the next step beyond America; to the extreme. They were among the first to field sloped armor. Which proved highly efficient.

Post war, the America embraced the quality over quantity and lighting war. The germans were right. Turns out protecting highly skilled veterans pays dividends over treating everyone as disposable cogs. Better morale. Force multiplier.

Not to mention Germans and Russians were the only ones who developed rocket technology, Katyusha rocket launcher as a example. Their airplanes were good too.

The Muricans were vastly behind technologically

But the Soviet tanks were FAR better then the Murican ones in every way. They were even better then German tanks, the Panzers got outclassed hard by the main battle tank of the Soviets. And it wasnt just better, it was produced in high quantity too.

By that point Russia was getting industrial support from America and Germany was falling way behind. They were struggling to simply keep fuel in their vehicles. Their African campaign was failing or failed. Russia had the luxury of American aid. America was committed to quantity. The Soviet advantage was primarily time, aid, and warning in advance of Hitler's attack.

Continue to watch the above channel. He does a really good job of digging through the facts. And they frequently don't agree with popularized historical accounts. Germany did amazing for what they had.

Yes, but Im talking about resources. Im talking about technological superiority and design of vehicles of war.

The Muricans didnt send that. If they did, they would not have worse airplanes and tanks then the Soviets. The Soviet engineers outclassed the western allies.

I read recently that the Soviets were way more prepared for war then they let on. Only used 10% of their ammo inventory. Have been meaning to look up if it was true.

I herd that too. Stalin saw the Axis powers as just a warm-up on the road to global communism. Just to flex the Soviet Army a little.

The British didn't have a great tank until they produced the Centurion at the end of the war. They spent practically the whole war with tanks inferior to the Germans. Before the Centurion, the Firefly with its 17lb gun fitted in a US Sherman was their best tank.
