Literally nothing is more important than surviving long enough to raise your children into adulthood. I've seen too many kids grow up without fathers because dad's primary concern was fighting for whatever cause. No matter what is happening politically, religiously, economically, or culturally.... Dying in an attempt to change some vast nebulous cycle of events is not worth more than raising your children.
