If I recall, he was killed for opposing an education system designed to use propaganda and misinformation to make slaves of the majority of the population.

Thought he was killed for resisting Antony and his lust for power.

In sum, you’re right. His stance on education was certainly part of the equation, in my view.

Not really, he was killed for opposing the Caesars.

Reading some Mary Beard books. She points out and paints a picture Cicero is like a tyrant, evil coup bad guy in her books. But the whole time reading I feel myself rooting for the guy instead. Couldn’t put my finger on it. Now it seems more clear.

I wonder if marry beard is a Jew or skips out the fact the society was going to shit because of Jews in her book out of ignorance or pure jewery

In reading history books that are 100, 120 years old and older, I have noticed that the reality they represent is completely different from that described in more recent books. I come to the conclusion that for 80 years only books favoring jews or those depicting the heroes of European culture in a bad light have been allowed to print. Even "The Great Gatsby" was to be called "Trimachio", like a character in an ancient play about an arrogant jew who had made a fortune with swindlers. The book would not have come out if the title had not been changed.

Seems to be a good observation. I knew history was being re-written. But on this scale is almost unbelievable. I think next books I read about history, make sure the publishing date are before the UN was created. ‘54 was it?
Be interesting to see the contrast.

That's somewhat ironic. He was one of the most conservative and conciliatory politicians of his time. He was famous for settling disputes, keeping order and above all avoiding overthrowing the status quo.

Yeah definitely. Not all books about history are created equal.

Like now, there’s different perspectives, even to how history is viewed.

Reading old family grimoires, I've found spells specifically protecting yourself and home from jews.

Shit, all the way back then?

Even earlier. The Babylonian Talmud was adopted by the jews during the Babylonian captivity in 597 B.C.E.

The criticism has always been consistent as well. It's not random accusations from different people across time. It's always the same things all the way back.

Yes. Almost every civilisation that had contact with them and has remaining records held them in disdain. That said, this is probably a fake quote.

As far as I can tell that's a fake quote (pages.vassar.edu). Couldn't find a source for it anywhere.

Are you a jew or what?

Oy vey, shut it down.

I went looking for a source for that quote and I kept coming up with articles saying it's fake instead, that's one of them. In general I don't accept quotes unless there's a specific reference saying where and when they said it, so I can check up on it.

Great username btw.
