Absolutely correct. Your body needs the fat to process proteins properly. For best results, animal meats should have their matching fat eaten with it (e.g. beef and beef fat). This change in dietary recommendations is a big step in the right direction, but it isn't perfect.

My steak has fat. My bacon has fat. I have some Atkins and the others. I don’t think most would see this guidance as only eat protein.
