>A decade after a landmark study proved that feeding peanut products to young babies could prevent development of life-threatening allergies, new research finds the change has made a big difference in the real world. About 60,000 children have avoided developing peanut allergies after guidance first issued in 2015 upended medical practice by recommending introducing the allergen to infants starting as early as 4 months. "That's a remarkable thing, right?" said Dr. David Hill, an allergist and researcher at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and author of a study published Monday in the medical journal Pediatrics. Hill and colleagues analyzed electronic health records from dozens of pediatric practices to track diagnoses of food allergies in young children before, during and after the guidelines were issued.

How many kids got fucked up by the old public health advice that caused a peanut allergy epidemic? Peanut allergy is serious stuff - it causes anaphylaxis. Add to this how many products had to get degraded by substituting cracker crumbs for peanuts (like Drumstick ice cream treats)? Nutritious little peanut snack for hungry airline passengers? No more! The total bill for this, in human effort, capital investment, redesign of services, and reduced consumer satisfaction must be staggering. Billions of dollars fuck-up I have no doubt.

These public health people are a menace.

Also - part of this is also vaccine injury, most likely. There are peanut based vaccine adjuvents. Now go look at airbags...

I remember a time when they sent home a flyer (in public school) to "warn" parents that they cannot for any reason allow their kids to bring something with "tree nuts" for lunch as it might kill one of the kids.

I don't want to sound cold or like a jackass but my parents ignored it and no kids had problems. I get it but I don't get it. You are basically telling me that breathing might kill you.

I volunteered at the school a couple times during lunch. Mainly assisting with juice boxes lol. There were peanut free tables at one end of the lunchroom. i witnessed no legume or tree nut emergency.

Shit! I probably would have starved, as a kid, if it wasn't for peanut butter...

Well, little kids get a ton of vaccines. Vaccines open them up to all kinds of allergies based on exposure. It makes sense that if they avoid peanuts while vaxing the kids, they won't get the allergies.

No where in the article does it mention the cause of peanut allergies: vaccines.

They’re all patting themselves on the back because they found a way to patch over one of the severe adverse affects of the childhood vaccines without banning the harmful vaccines.
