I've taken taurine supplements for a decade. I don't know if I should stop based on just one study. Taurine is naturally in a lot of stuff. So stupid they don't point that out.

They do mention that its produced naturally in the body though. One commenter suggests that the body's production slows with age..

> the cancer cells feed on taurine, they go through a process called glycolysis, which is where cells break down glucose to make energy.

I take this to mean that taurine is a catalyst for glycolysis. This would make sense in an energy drink as it helps to facilitate the conversation of glucose (sugar) to energy.

Cancer, as I understand it, is essentially runway production of cells. Aiding glycolysis in a cancer patient seems like a bad idea.

This article may be intended as a hit piece against red bull and Celsius. The supplement is in most energy drinks and fish.

Upon further digging, taurine appears to not be necessary for glycolysis to occur, but it does make the process more efficient.
