DMSO is an interesting solvent. You can convert it to deadly dimethyl sulfate gas extremely easily with low pressure oxygen and a vacuum.

Just sayin.

So how would one obtain this magical substance?

Reminiscent of the description that spawned the 'Rona era vilification of Ivermectin.

Fortunately, I keep my DMSO, Ivermectin and Methaline Blue off-lable feathers numbered for just such an emergency.
