I'm on day 2 of fasting and just chugging coffee
Nice, how long are you planning to fast? I'm a big fan, daily intermittent fasting and the occasional 2-3 day fast when I feel like I need to reset my bowels. Great way to start a low carb diet too.
The coffee thing though, that's what got me through, I need flavor, plain water sucks. If it really does impact the brain, I'll need to find a good decaf dark roast.
But, TBH, I've been drinking coffee all day every day for 20+ years and I'm easily the smartest person in most rooms I enter. So if there's an effect, it might be very minimal.
Well I quit drinking again a couple weeks ago, and it seemed like my body was still craving all those beer calories it wasn't getting anymore, because I was eating way too much, so I ate a bunch of raisin bran before I started fasting, and that cleared me out pretty good. I'll try to keep going another day and see how I'm feeling then.
The coffee has been a big help for sure. I don't feel like I'm getting any dumber from it, but I'm sure there are some people that would say it's impossible.
