Insane. My mom was told when I was born in 1978 not to breast feed me because it lacked the proper nutrients. I had colic and screamed bloody murder until I was on solid food. She breast fed my brother who came along 4 years later and he was just fine.
The stories she has told me over the years of the stuff doctors told her to do with us is wild. I never had kids but my brother did and he chose to follow a lot of what docs told him for his two rather than listening to our mom and both of his kids have been diagnosed with autism and the 10 year old talks like a baby while the 7 year old still mostly grunts to get what she wants. Neither kid is stupid in the least, just damaged by the crap their parents allowed the doctors to do.
