From the post: "Tokyo — A study conducted in Japan suggests there's more to sushi than just a healthy dose of fish and seaweed. Researchers at Tohoku University found that wasabi, that spicy green condiment traditionally dabbed on the raw fish dish, improves both short- and long-term memory.

Rui Nouchi, the study's lead researcher and an associate professor at the school's Institute of Development, Aging and Cancer, told CBS News the results, while based on a limited sample of subjects without preexisting health conditions, exceeded their expectations."

Wasnt there a video on here showing most wasabi is fake and actually just green horseradish?

Most "wasabi" in America is just dyed horseradish. If you go to a authentic sushi place or are not in the US its probably real.

I can see that.

I still remember the first time my friends dared me to eat the whole little green ball at the Sushi place....

Yes, and the real reason is that after the first time the subject never ever forgets to use too much wasabi !!

Hah. If you are ever out with someone that has never had sushi... Tell them to go light on the guacamole.

Lol and Tbh, i switched to using wasabi everyday on my wholegrain pastrami bun since 2020 with sliced jalapeno pepper - plus its a great alternative to mustard on a fat juicy steak - wasabi is my go to - but yeah moderation is the key here.
