Not quite everywhere. They're trying to push presumed consent but can't get it past ethics committees. People have the right to say no, they don't want to be chopped up like a side of beef and sold off for profit to hospitals and big pharma. Patients be damned.
If you want to be a donor, make sure your family is aware so they can tell the docs to chop away. Most states in the jewS has it tied into the drivers license and if you say "yes" it will be on your DL.
Altruism is fine and all; most people want to help other humans, one way or another. Donation is subject to that altruism. It's also a money sump for hospitals and big pharma because it is pure profit. That $200k kidney is free. Cuz you donated.
