This is obvious to everyone who isn't an idiot or pushing booze (either in their own justification of habit or for profit). All studies to the contrary have always been fake, even if accurate, because you can choose what info you want to iscolate to make a study say whatever you want.

Long the narrative has been something along the lines of, "Red wine is great for antioxidants, which are good for your heart and many people don't get enough of. Some wine is good for you."

Compared to what? Having no antioxidants in your diet? Maybe I guess. But you could just eat some berries or something and get all you need and some other healthy stuff too with less calories and sugars, no risk of inebriation, etc so forth.

"Wine is healthy cause it has stuff that's good for your heart" is akin to saying, "I need an ice cream sundae for the calcium." Does it have calcium? I mean sure. Does that make it healthy? Of course not.

A truly occasional glass of wine if you limit it to that is no worse for you than a sundae on a special occassion. But you shouldn't drink regularly any more than you should eat sundaes all the time so let's not pretend either of them are "healthy."

Red wine contains something other than antioxidants. While the antioxidant angle is pushed, it really has nothing or little to do with the medical claims.

We don’t even use exogenous antioxidants like they say we do. Those are phytochrmicals made by and for plants. Humans make their own and you have to eat/sleep properly to maximize them.
