I believe ingested capsinthin ( the shit that makes nightshades red) causes the esophageal lining to become inflamed and disrupted (eventually causing cancer), causing a pain that Zantac masked. Kinda like saying bandaids cause scarring. No, the cut the bandaid was helping caused scaring, not the thing that covered it up. i still feel they are evil to the core though.
