It's quite literally impossible to "cure" cancer by "curing cancer". Cancer is a sympotom. The underlying cause is the body isn't getting rid of, killing off, recycling, digesting, whatevering cells that are dead and decaying. These are cancer cells. They still functionally reproduce but what happens when a "dead" and useless cell reproduces? Bad things.
