It's a little strange that their first-ever try at an mRNA vaccine is 95% effective. According to them it's as simple as writing biological software.

I think it's a little different from what they say. From what I can tell, from this and other sources - mRNA is not purely "software" like they are saying, but more like the G-code that you would feed a CNC mill alongside the raw material. In this analogy the CNC mill is a Ribosome, the raw material is amino acids, and the result is a protein. So, different mRNA molecules combined with your body's ribosomes and raw amino acids will result in different proteins being produced.

The mRNA "vaccine" (in quotes because this doesn't sound like a vaccine) will instruct the machinery already there in the body to produce a new protein designed to look the same as the protein created by the virus, tricking the immune system into producing the same antibodies.

Looks like the main risk is the immune system attacking the RNA itself. Looks like if you have a strong immune response, you could potentially have severe side effects.
