I've got mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, it's great that they stuck it to the man and escaped their prison. But these were affluent people who could afford to make arrangements in the middle of the night - hiring cars etc. What will happen now is that hotels will lock people in, post security guards at all the exits and clamp down hard.

Other way round. The guests are demanding their money back (according to BBC World Service report I heard last night). What's more, the guests were getting free champagne delivered to their rooms. And they weren't locked in. Don't forget, these were very affluent people who would have access to smart lawyers, heavy body guards etc. It would be a lot easier to lock-down ordinary folk.
