i remember working on a dairy farm when i was quite young and the farmer was trying so hard to jump through all the hoops required for selling raw milk, but he just was having the hardest time affording it and so on. He wanted to sell it on shelves in stores but the best he could do was sell in the shop on a dairy-farm in the middle of nowhere. There was so much you could do with raw milk, i was so annoyed it wasnt allowed on shelves because we couldnt always afford the farmers milk.
Before that there was a local mexican who had a cow who would sell refilled 1gal containers on his dinky property with no permits, no hoops to jump through. That's pretty rare, almost no one owns a milking cow, that's the only time i've had the opportunity to have raw milk from a cow in the neighborhood (A large neighborhood mostly unused desert, each property out there appeared to average 1-10 acres and was largely undeveloped)
