Adding more to the 'don't worry, be happy'
Abstract source:https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.aag1322 "Potent protection against H5N1 and H7N9 influenza via childhood hemagglutinin imprinting" -The first influenza attack that a child suffers can affect the way that their lifelong immunity to the virus builds up.
You can have exposure to influenza virus in HA group 1 (which includes subtype H5, H1, and H2 ), and HA group 2 (which includes subtype H7, and H3 ).
Scientists found that if in childhood you were exposed to H3 influenza, then you were less susceptible to the H7N9 virus.
If exposed to influenza H1 or H2 subtype viruses in childhood then people were less susceptible to avian H5N1
Full article source: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5134739/ Now you need the most likely influenza version that you would be exposed to in childhood years. HA group 1 was 1918–1968; and 1977 to 2015 HA group 2 was 1968 to 2015
Then you just figure if you're still alive today after childhood, then you have some immunity to all this seasonal influenza shit.
Very thorough. thanks for taking the time! Always happy to add more knowledge to my ammo box. :)
