Big caveat with the Vitamin D laden lard; the rendered fat must come from pasture raised piggies. Exposure to the sun is what kicks D production into overdrive. Factory farmed swine produce an inferior end product. Cultivate a relationship with your local pig farmer and barter or purchase the fat fresh post slaughter. Learn to render it into lard your owndamnself. Moreover, the Chinks now own Smithfield, the largest producer of pork in the US of A. And they are feeding the hogs on a steady cocktail of poisons and plastics. No shit.
Even the farmers in some places would keep pigs indoors all the time, so you really have to know where it's coming from.
Fatworks sells pasture raised lard, for anyone having trouble finding it.
