Helpful. You have to find a good chriopractor, there are shitty ones out there like with anything.

Hard to argue against health benefits of aligning your skeletal structure, spine, etc.

Use it as a way to get in alignment, and build your muscles by doing activity in proper posture. This will help to cement a correct posture and help you to naturally move symmetrically.

I recommend.

My ex's parents were both chiropractors. His dad was amazing with me and told me to never allow anyone to adjust me. He said based on my joints etc, I'm just not the kind of person for that. He used exercises and low sonic frequency stuff to fix my neck after a bad car accident. He was great at recommending supplements, too. He told me to never allow his wife to touch me because she was too rough with people who needed more subtle techniques, but great with people who needed serious adjustments.

From what I can tell, just like anyone they are hit or miss!

>He told me to never allow his wife to touch me

Sounds like he knew his wife just wanted your D ;-)

I'm a chcik so she wasn't getting that! She was just one of those giant women who thought she was gentle when she was the fatlrtherst thing from it.

It's where the fools who suffer from ailments due to their sedentary lifestyle go to throw their money away.

[–] 5 pts

Temp fix for a long term prob, it's not just sedentary lifestyles though. It's manual labor positions as well like diesel fleet mechanics etc.

[–] 3 pts

The thing is that phsycal labor can't really replace exercise. Work keeps you active, but also fucks up your body, but lifting weights few days week helps to prevent damage and strain from work. Talking from experience.

Anecdotally from personal experience, I agree. However someone else's MMV.

Don't listen to these guys, they can do wonders for some. I personally know several people who had long term problems solved by them. They even got off the pain killers. Look up John Bergman on Youtube and there are some others on there doing good work. Not just adjustments but John gives presentations where he blows apart the lies of things like high blood pressure etc. You will have to have several sessions for pretty much everything but some of them literally with one visit take someone from a walker and bent over to walking normal. Good luck with your problem.

I remember my folks dragging my brother and I off to one for a couple years. That fucking hurt. Never did understand why, I guess they were weak minded enough to believe that it would be helpful.

Kind of like the "carob is just like chocolate and better!" except it tastes like ass and needs more sugar than cocoa to even be palatable. Ah, the 80s.

My chiro saved my C2 C5 L2 breakage. No surgery. 98% recovery.

Meanwhile my friend is fucked up from their chiro who tore a bunch of shit in her neck ,may never recover.

80% are quacks. 10% are Gods.

When I was 19 I was working construction. We were roofing a 2 story that day, I was hauling bundles of asphalt shingles up a ladder on to staging, dumping them off on the roof. The staging was on pump jacks and consisted of doubled up 2x12 plank. About mid morning I hauled a bundle up, walked out on the staging and it broke out from under me. I landed on the uneven, yet to be backfilled ground by the foundation, bundle still on my shoulder. I dropped the bundle, checked myself out, seemed to be okay. I carried a few more bundles and my back started to get sore. I spent the rest of the day doing other stuff. The next morning I could hardly set up in bed my back hurt so much. I took some aspirin and it helped but still hurt.

I went to the local chiropractor. He had me lay flat on the patient table, measured my legs. One leg was 3/4" longer than the other! He had me contort into various positions and he would gently give a push or a nudge my shoulders to snap various vertebra in my back, about 8 different times. It was painless. I was amazed this frail little 125lb doctor could snap me so easily, I weighed about 210lbs of muscle at the time. Anyway ... one visit and a day or two of rest and I was as good as new! Never had to go back for more. So ... for structural issues I highly recommend a good chiropractor.

Good results! I just worry they could make something worse.

I'd ask around for recommendations but this guy was not a specialist. He knew his stuff though.

A year or so later I came to him with a fever, body aches, runny nose ... I knew it wasn't just a cold or flu. He gave me something that was essentially aspirin + pain killer, it didn't touch the symptoms. A week later I was in emergency diagnosed with meningitis ... so there's that. BTW, you have to get a spinal tap to verify meningitis, your spinal fluid turns whitish from the dead white blood cells fighting the infection. So this doctor was great for skeletal issues, not necessarily as great for severe illness.

ooh that sounds rough

[–] 1 pt

Bullshit. You’re leg was 3/4 of an inch longer than the other??! That’s crazy!

[–] 3 pts

The vertebra were misaligned which causes the hip to tilt. Legs were the same length but the misaligned vertebra/tilted hip made them measure 3/4" difference.

66 years old... at 25 I injured my back as a diesel mechanic.. the doctors said surgery... I went to a chiropractor and he popped me back into place and showed me some stretching exercises. I was fixed for over ten years until I had a car accident. Doctors said crushed vertebrae in my neck. Chiropractor looked at the x=ray and showed me the misalignment. cracked my next and i was fixed. I have walked in over the years with a migraine headache had them crack my neck and the migraine disappeared with n seconds and gone in minutes. If you hit a pothole your car needs alignment, so does your body. Watch videos. Fora tight back and spasmed muscles it is the right thing to do and natural... or touy could see if Pfyzer has a solution for your ache.

They're midway between physical therapists and eastern medicine practitioners. They know a little bit of both, but not necessarily all.

My advice: try a few PTs, if that doesn't work try acupuncture or something in that vein, and if all else fails then sure, go for it.

I know from personal experience managing industrial (((insurance))) claims that 90% of chiros will expand a little problem like a thumb strain out into "fixing" your perfectly fine back, and drag what should be a month long recovery process out into 6 months, in order to jew you out of your money.

To be fair, on my end they're jewing the insurance company so that's not necessarily bad, but still lol. It's basically like trying to find an honest lawyer. You might, but you are likely to get burned. On the other hand, PTs have, guaranteed, spent several years of their lives learning techniques and remedies for different issues.

I've used both and have received greater, faster benefit from a chiropractor. That said, I've found zero quacks who are PTs and have found an abundance of quacks who are chiropractors. Finding a sane chiropractor can be challenging. Sadly, I find people are quick to judge the entire field of chiropractors by the quacks rather than the professionals who really are good at what they do. In fact, many "treatments" provided by PTs are modifications of what is taken from chiro-practitioners. Of course, they won't offer that.

Both spouse and I have used them off and on. Sometimes helps, sometimes doesn’t. Neither of us are fat or inactive. Had one tell us if we do yoga faithfully, we would never need him again. Haven’t seen him in nearly a decade.
