I use pure ascorbic acid crystal powder mixed into water.
There are also multiple functions of vitamin c.
One function is a building block for tissue and similar. This is your 1-3 grams daily.
One function is fighting infection. This requires the highest achievable blood concentration. Your bowels limit this if taken orally and can take as much as 4-5 grams an hour to reach bowel tolerance. Intravenously you can go as high as 100 grams of vitamin C in an IV.
As a building block, a natural vitamin C would be better because of the many other nutrients that accompany it.
As an infection fighter, you want pure vitamin C as the quantities needed quickly add up. I've gotten sick before and taken 40 grams of vitamin C in less than a 24 hour period.
Linus Pauling is a great start down the vitamin C pill. Theres also Dr. Klenner too.
Thanks for the input . I use it (synthetic) combined with zinc to fight infection . Successfully . Just want to know if it's more of a placebo effect than an actual victory ... Rosehip might be the best natural source of vitamin C but not easily available for me . Sure to check out those names, thanks .
Zinc is a building block. And should not be taken in high doses.
Vitamin C when used to fight infection should be taken in much higher doses. You should not NOT take these higher doses with anything other than pure vitamin c. Vitamin C strips the lipid layer off viral particles and allows your body to attack the now recognizable particle. To acheive this blood concentration you'd have to be taking at least a gram every hour. Your body processes vitamin C quickly so taking it every hour is a must when you are sick, otherwise you're not utilizing the vitamin c to fight infection. Any improvement you have felt is likely due to the zinc you are taking and not the vitamin C. To utilize vitamin C to fight infection, you must reach bowel tolerance and stay there until symptoms subside.
When I get sick I can feel when I need to take more vitamin c, usually about every 45 minutes for me.
2lbs of vitamin C is less than $40 and will last you a couple of years. Fuck the stupid rosebud shit and all the other hype. Pure ascorbic acid crystals are just as effective as anyother vitamin C. Probably better because it's pure crystals that are almost instantly absorbed by the body. Anyone talking "bioavailable" is fucking retarded and do not know what they are talking about. These are chemicals that react in a certain way as certain as the sun comes up. So theres no he said she said. It's acheive blood concentration "X amount of vitamin c" per ml of blood will react with Y. You can literally turn your sickness on and off by your intake of vitamin C.
4-5 grams an hour to reach bowel tolerance.
Does exceeding bowel tolerance do what I think it does?
Don't trust a fart, you WILL shart.
