Has anyone found any good research on this? It sounds pretty obvious what the deal is but haven't come across any good articles or research results to verify my gut feeling .

Natural is better with most supplements but it's difficult to get the amount your body really needs without supplements. Natural & synthetic (ascorbic acid) have different rates of bioavailabilty depending on your diet, glucose levels, fiber intake, amount of omega 3 you take at same time as your Vit C, and/or use of grapefruit juice effectively while supplementing.

Grapefruit juice can block the action of intestinal CYP3A4, so instead of being metabolized quickly, more of the Vit C enters bloodstream and stays in the body longer till it is processed. This is extremely useful with certain meds or vitamins you may want to get more 'bang for your buck' from. Or if you are on any big pharma meds it may hurt you if you don't know what you are doing or don't get blood tested regularly to check liver function.

Off the top of my head I can not recall the exact bioavailability numbers of vitamins but many years ago found the numbers to be extremely low (less than 40%) compared to how many milligrams/micrograms is listed per dose on the bottle.

Good articles or research results? They are literally everywhere

Thanks for the information . Not on any meds. Ketogenic / very low carb diet . Been for several years . Not once gotten sick during this time as opposed to the time before. If any flulike symptoms just two days of C+zinc and it's over. Ive ´found articles saying they're all the same and articles saying they're not .

Chemical structure is the same for natural & synthetic and there are differences in bioavailabilty but minimal and not enough to matter.

As far as combating sickness w/ C+zinc I do not have enough anecdotal evidence to help as I have not been sick w/ cold or flu in over 2 decades.

Nothing anecdotal about it, it's a chemical reaction in the blood stream. If you don't know about vitamin C, I'm not sure why you're giving advice on it? You're regurgitating the same shit off the side of a vitamin c box.

You have not researched vitamin C specifically. You do not understand the mechanism of vitamin C fighting infection. Your understanding of it is wrong as you compare it to other supplements as though they are similar. They are not and vitamin C is not like any other supplement. To fight infection, you must take pure vitamin C to bowel tolerance, without the high blood concentration, you are not utilizing vitamin C's most powerful mechanism.
