My rule of thumb is to avoid all pharmaceuticals except where the product has been in the market sufficiently long that it has a proven track record. A doctor's advice is not enough. They typically shill pharmaceutical drugs and get kickbacks.
I also don't trust big hospital. I assume they lie now. Even if you ask what you're getting, they're going to lie. They probably don't even tell the doctor what they're giving you. The protocol is based on a revenue model, not patient safety.
