Anyone who has “earned” or spent a US dollar is a useful idiot if you want to get technical.
I think it goes beyond the US dollar these days, you don't take much risks by including the euro for instance
You have a world ruled by money, mostly, money being the nerve of war for a start, it's like that
You need capitalism, right? Answer is yes, since it's the only economic system we know of, all the so called alternative economic systems being capitalism with variations on the degree of state intervention in the economy, full state intervention giving you soviet union for instance, where the state owns everything, even grocery stores. All that to in the end sell natural resources and some of the national production "on the market" outside the soviet union, to get something in return...
So if you need capitalism you need capital. Capital isn't just money, workers and their skills are part of the capital of a company, and they aren't going to share their capital or put it at your disposal out of charity, they want something in return, which usually is money... So either you have the money to pay them, or you borrow it... And lenders, share holders, just like workers, don't get involved out of charity, they want something in return, which usually is... Money.
But what for? What do they do with the money they get?
Well you see, that's where the big difference is between most workers and share holders/lenders; workers rarely buy shares of the company they work in, or shares of any company, they don't even try. Instead what do they do with their hard earned money when they don't spend it on craps they don't need? They often buy a house to put their own ass in, for instance, 99% of the time they buy liabilities in a nutshell, while they should buy assets that would in return bring more money to buy more assets and on and on and on
You have people whose sole ambition in life, is to live their life, have a house 2 cars garage and a wife and kids and the dog next to the swimming pool and that's it. They saw that on TV and that's good enough and after all who doesn't want it? And you are kind of lame if you don't have that, and you have to be kind of insane or weird if you don't even try to at least have some of that, right? So those people who are the vast majority, they wake up in the morning their entire life, with that idea in mind and they push in that direction, and eventually they get what they wanted, more or less
And then you have people they want the world, or at least the biggest chunk of it for a start, and everyday they wake up in the morning their entire life, with that idea in mind and they push in that direction, and eventually they get what they wanted, more or less. Those people are a minority, and generations after generations, passing the wealth and the ambition down the line, they usually end up owning a good chunk of the world. And combined, they pretty much own the world.
It's like that
