Don't let anyone fear monger you about it damaging your thyroid, either. I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis (have since I was 17 - mid 40s, now) and taking Lugol's has helped a lot. I've been taking it daily for at least 10 years now. I used to do a couple of drops in a glass of water in the morning but now I add a drop or two to each liter bottle for my seltzer maker thing. I love bubbly water and I don't even notice it.
I do bloodwork for my thyroid regularly (poor thing barely functions at this point - each allergic reaction kills it a bit more and it looks like a sponge on an ultrasound). My numbers have been relatively stable with the iodine and if what the fear mongers say is true, but I'd be having serious issues.
I told my naturepath (I go to her when I need an order I can't get on my own) that I take it regularly and she said she has no idea who started the idea it was dangerous for Hashi's but she said she has a hard time convincing her patients that it is more than safe.
