Just multiply the carb, alcohol, and sugar calories by 2 and multiply the fat and protein calories by 0.667 and you'll lose weight counting calories.

Actually, they're flat out worthless. It's a terrible measurement, and it really is a meaningless number. It has about as much applicability to the human body as the GDP has to actual economic behavior.

Every attempt to rescue calories has ended in failure. And the sooner you give up on the cult, the sooner you can find yourself in something resembling reality.

Besides, if you start eating meat, live your life in ketosis, not only will your natural appetite and satiety inform you of how much food you actually need, but most of the stress and obsession with food will leave your life. It turns out, just like animals, our body is built to understand what it needs to eat, and is capable of informing us.

The math above forces you to eat 25% (or less) sugar/alcohol/carbs as your daily caloric intake to stay under your daily limit. That's effectively the same as a ketogenic diet.

It's not the same at all. Eating a ketogenic diet forces you to feed your body nutrients that it can actually absorb and properly digest, the State of Affairs where you don't need to either *starve yourself or turn into a ham planet.

It turns out that you can apply your mathematical talents to things like engineering or Building Society when you stop worrying about how much poison you can digest before it hurts you.
