I'm talking about seeds that predate genetic engineering

You don't need CRISPR to genetically modify a seed. We've been genetically modifying seeds for thousands of years by selecting them for certain characteristics we favor. This doesn't require a laboratory to do. Did all the different dog breeds that have existed all come from laboratory genetic alteration or selective breeding?

I'm pretty sure we didn't selectively breed plants that generate pesticide proteins...

I guess you don't know about nicotine and neonicotinoids, permethrin and pyrethrin and solanine. All are produced in plants and have been used as pesticides. Potatoes and tomatoes...and all the nightshade family produce nerve agents. Look them up.

We did NOT selectively breed plants to produce their own pesticides. We did that with genetic engineering. Using plant derived pesticides is not the same as engineering plants to create their own pesticides.

I don't do the "let me go google this so I can reply and look smart" game. You should try quitting. It's obnoxious and wastes time.
