This doesn't tell the entire story. Of course thermodynamics are in play, but most people believe the "calories out" is fixed (by your height/weight) plus whatever calories you burn working out.

Intermittent fasting + HFLC diets are the way to go. Of course, you can overeat with these methods, but allowing your body to process stored fat is ideal.

I understand that very well. Extremely well. That's included in 'CO', calories out. Calories out isn't just equal to you running 5 miles in a day and doing menial activity. It's literally everything. That's not in confusion. Just like the fundamental laws of physics. Just because most people don't understand or know the fundamental laws does not mean there's confusion about them, there isn't. Just because hams are confused about CICO by jew lies does not mean CICO is misunderstood, it's not. CICO is fully understood.

Because they eat more food than necessary. Not because their metabolism worked against them or acted in an odd way. Maybe .0001% of humans have dysfunctions of that variety and that's be generous by a significant margin.

See, you're accidentally (I assume) hiding behind language here. The amount "necessary" is determined by your BODY. It changes the amount (in kCal) depending on various factors, including how much is being eaten. If you move from 2000kCal/day to 1700, sure you'll lose a pound every - what - 12 days? For a couple weeks maybe. But then your body will reduce its output and 1700 will be the new normal. Unfortunately, you'll feel cold and hungry in the new normal.
If you aren't promoting IF then you are hand in hand with the jews telling us to eat 3-5 times a day, over the course of 16 hours.
You eat 3000 calories a day of bread, rice, fruit, and pasta and you will gain weight rapidly. Eat 3000 calories a day of fat and protein and see if you gain anything.
CICO is true, but not in the way most people imagine. All calories come out one way or another, or they're stored. The thing with eating fat and protein is that there's no insulin to drive fat storage so out those calories go. When you're in ketosis you're literally pissing out fat and even breathing out fat with every breath.
