Bet you didn't know that sugar and carbs (which convert to sugar quickly in your body) are transformed into cholesterol in your body. Cholesterol isn't just from meats and eggs. And cholesterol alone isn't the problem that causes clogged arteries. It's the sugar that causes the damage to the walls of arteries that then allows cholesterol to attach to those injured sites and accumulate. In fact, many doctors find that people who eat low fat diets have the greatest issue with clogged arteries because of their high sugar and carb intake.

And I just want to point out that cholesterol isn't the enemy it's portrayed to be. The body uses it to repair damaged blood vessels. Without it the damaged vessels would break, you'd have internal bleeds and you'd die. It's a symptom of a disease rather than the cause. Taking cholesterol lowering drugs isn't a good idea.

You need to reduce the sugar to reduce the incidence of damage to cell walls, to prevent plaquing

And there are probably other reasons like stress and not getting enough sleep.
