This is a great video that explains the obesity epidemic in the US -- primarily from packaged foods.

@ 16:50 - Sugared beverages account for 35% of sugar in our diet; desserts/sweets account for 16%, and 49% in other hidden sources

@ 18:00 Bottom line: Our society has become obese. Social Security only works if you have healthy young adults contributing. If they become sick, the entire system collapses.

OMG! I have the same reaction! When I see a morbidly obese person I don't feel sorry for them, I feel disgusted. Take control of your life and stop being a victim.

I have one relative like this and it pisses me off. No matter what info you give them, they eat all the junk and then complain about the illnesses. I finally said to this person 'you know you will die in 5 years , right'? That woke them up a bit -- but we will see if it lasts.

>they eat all the junk and then complain about the illnesses

That's what's so crazy. And nowadays ignorance is no excuse, the pertinent knowledge and facts are everywhere.

Agreed. Info is power. People need to take control of their health. The data is out there. And you can get virtually any recipe on the net you want for free!
