A tablespoon of cod liver oil a day does wonders.
It's very hard to take too much VitaminD. So e person took 100'000 IU a day for 5 years and had some calcification issues is all.
Also 15 minutes at day of most of your skin exposed to sun without sunblock of course. will naturally produce enough.
White people are good at making vitamin D with the 15 min /day exposure. Go for a 'vitamin D walk' every day.
Self dosing with the 10,000 IU pills can be too much for some people.
About a year ago my doc ran normal blood work as part of my yearly and checked my Vitamin D levels. I was already supplementing with 2000 IU a day so I thought it would be fine but my levels came back at 19 ng/ML.
He said he wanted to see me between 30 and 75 and that anything above 100 can cause issues. I started supplementing with 10,000 IU a day and 3 months later we reran my blood work. I came in at 95 ng/ML. Over time this would lead to joint issues and Kidney stones. So for me at least 2000 IU was not enough and 10,000 IU was too much. YMMV
What level are you at now and what dose?
it varies a little... the sweet spot for me is 5000 IU but that size pill has spotty availability so sometimes I dose with 1x5000 when i have it and sometimes 3x2000 and sometimes I don't want to swallow a bunch of pills so I do 2x2000... so my daily fluctuates between 4000 and 6000.
but that is not the point... my point is that everyone absorbs Vitamin D differently and the best thing to do is some blood work so you can dial in your own body.

Yeah I understand that I was wondering if you found the right dose to achieve at least 50 and what that was. I do six month testing, with 3 month testing you’d always would be changing the dose. It takes roughly 3 to 6 months to plateau.
Best to get tested
