However, this result would be true of any plant you smoked because smoke inhalation is universally not good for your body.

As with most blanket statements, this one is incorrect. Smoking offers protection from respiratory diseases from mold and dust (farmers lung). It also offers protection from covid. Those who smoke have far lower rates of hospitalization. Doctors and media don't want to hint that there could be any benefits because of the history with smoking.

The problem isn't tobacco, it's the filters (sucking hot air through plastic.... genius), pesticides, and frequency of use. Mild inhalation of pure tobacco that wasn't grown with pesticides is perfectly healthy. Those who smoke cigars once a week have basically the exact same cancer rates as non smokers (no statistical significant difference). The problem is, we tend to not do things in moderation as a society.

It is not. The benefits never outweigh the benefits, long term. There is no safe "smoke inhalation" use. Smoke itself, from any bio-source, is carcinogenic. It's especially more harmful for children.

The problem isn't tobacco

The problem is burning any biomass, of any kind, and inhaling it.
