I read it more as Big Pharma is the problem. They always go for an expensive treatment rather than a cheap cure. I would not be surprised if they have been trying to get permission to experiment with Spike and this was the first time they were indemnified again lawsuits.

That IS the problem. Why cure when you can treat? And, while they treat, they slander all who would cure.
