Just sitting on the couch with my laptop and I began to experience severe dizziness. Got up and I fell. The room was spinning like mad and I thought I was experiencing some kind of covid shit or something. Went to the hospital yesterday and now have an appointment with ENT doctor to treat Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) but its going to take 72 hours for them to call me back because of COVID.

Friend sent me a video on how to correct yourself, tried 3 different techniques which seemed to mildly work. I'm screwed. I'm self-employed with a job to finish but can't walk, drive. Will need to hire someone to finish off for me unless I can fix this pronto.

Anyone else experience this? How long did it last and what did you do? I have also had tinnitus since 2008 which the dr seems to think is the cause. Smoking pot exacerbates it and right now, smoking any is the last thing on my mind. May just quit. All I can do is sit in this damn chair and not move my head. This sucks.

Tips?

Went Kayaking with my son last weekend. So the canoe story was interesting. Ate a chicken burger and some fries. Smoked a big fatty and relaxed on the couch. Then boom. I don't think it's an infection because I just spoke with a physiologist and he said if the spinning stops about 15 seconds after looking up, it's the inner ear. If not, then more serious like an infection. It's stops quickly after looking up. Tried the half somersault maneuver and that seems to help somewhat. I'll have to keep doing it all day.

But the pot. My tinnitus goes into overdrive every time I smoke and I feel there must be a correlation. Ringing in the right ear and that's where my vertigo is coming from.

Tinnitus might do it - I know for a fact Kayaking can. So, no pot and no paddling, see if you don't fully recover in a couple of days.

Get some sleep and relax. That's the fastest path to healing.

If it persists, you want to get stuff inspected.
