That's not how it works.

What happens is that when the cell is starved the body enters a survival mode. This mode promotes genetic repair and protection. The protection of the DNA prevents epigenetic drift which as it turns out is the true cause of aging.

Basically as you age your DNA is actually mostly just fine, but your cells start to get confused about what they should be doing.
