Supplement with Kefir or plain unsweetened whole milk yogurt. Or fermented food like Kim Chee or saurkraut. Keep your gut flora healthy.
Whole milk yogurt was my go-to for that time period. Especially that really tart stuff, can't get enough of it.

i'm vegan. i like cleveland kraut. it's raw and has pro-biotics. it's overpriced. but it tastes good.
i like kimchi, too. i think there are versions without shrimp / fish.
i have a fermenting jar. but i'm afraid to accidentally create botulinum.
