i had symptoms for 9 months: fatigue, heat intolerance, sweating, inflammation, nerve pain in my spine, hip, leg, and foot, and bell's palsy for 6 weeks.
a neurologist ordered a blood test for lyme disease. the igg western blot test was positive. a general practitioner prescribed doxycycline.
so far, i've taken 3 doses. already, there's been a decrease of symptoms. there's noticeably less inflammation in my face and the back of my head and neck.
i hope symptoms don't recur after the course of doxycycline.

Doxycycline is great stuff, I've used it for serious skin inflammation from acne. Just be aware that any antibiotic taken for long periods of time can upset your gut flora, so you may want to keep track of what you're eating and if you're suddenly experiencing Diarrhea or other intestinal issues.

Supplement with Kefir or plain unsweetened whole milk yogurt. Or fermented food like Kim Chee or saurkraut. Keep your gut flora healthy.

Whole milk yogurt was my go-to for that time period. Especially that really tart stuff, can't get enough of it.

good advice. i'm vegan. i like cleveland kraut. it's raw and has pro-biotics. it's overpriced. but it tastes good.
i like kimchi, too. i think there are versions without shrimp / fish.
i have a fermenting jar. but i'm afraid to accidentally create botulinum.

thanks for the advice. yeah. i don't want to take doxycycline / antibiotics, for a long time. in addition to what you typed about gut flora, i would be concerned about my liver. i'm not drinking beer or anything, while on doxycycline.
