that depends on what you are trying to do, if you want to lose weight and dont care if you lose a little muscle mass too then if/keto is the most efficient method but thats not going to be a healthy diet unless you take a fuck ton of supplements
if you want to be healthy eating a few times a day makes sense because it allows you to get more micronutrients than you would get just eating one big meal unless you make multiple dishes when cooking, most people will just up the portion size
if you want to build muscle then you want to be snacking regularly on high protein snacks, bodybuilders go for 6 meals a day, eating a high protein snack slightly increases the rate you build muscle for a short period of time after a work out for a window of about 48 hours, which is where we get back to pickled eggs being the ultimate food, you can snack on pickled eggs(boiled will work too if you are a pussy) and then eat 1 meal a day, which is currently how i eat, its snacks though out the day and 1 large meal, you should also be careful not to over do it on the phytoestrogens and look in to which foods boost testosterone
