Been doing it for a year and half with zero results. Granted I still eat whatever I want but I don't gain/lose any weight. Maybe that is results I guess? Only eat from 12-6.

How many meals a day?

Usually two. Lunch and dinner. On the weekends usually just a snack and dinner.

I just started IF last week and was thinking about making a post soon reporting on my progress as time goes on. I'm combining it with a calisthenics program where I do short 5-10 bursts of exercise periodically throughout the day. This accomodates my work schedule better than trying to complete full 30 min to 1 hour workouts.

I have the typical ectomorph body type and have gone the convential lift heavy and eat all the things with protein route in the past and didn't like the result. I felt sluggish all the time and while I did get a lot stronger and the number on the scale went up, I just felt terrible and looked fat. The protein farts were the killer for me though. Like Pumba, no one wanted to stand downwind of me. My goal is to obtain the lower bodyfat Brad Pitt Fight Club look rather than a bulkier bodybuilder look. I think this is a more obtainable goal for my body type.

With only a limited number of days in I can report that it seems to be working well. Even with only a few workouts and 5/7 days successfully fasting, I'm starting to regain definintion in my abs and chest. I feel great too. A lot more energy and motivation, but that could be the new workout/diet high speaking. We'll see how I feel in a few weeks.

I try to eat one meal a day. One big healthy meal end of the day kind fasting. I went from 209 at the start of the plandemic down to my lowest 179.. started lifting heavier and I'm back to about 183 or so.. goal is to be lean 190 and strong

that depends on what you are trying to do, if you want to lose weight and dont care if you lose a little muscle mass too then if/keto is the most efficient method but thats not going to be a healthy diet unless you take a fuck ton of supplements

if you want to be healthy eating a few times a day makes sense because it allows you to get more micronutrients than you would get just eating one big meal unless you make multiple dishes when cooking, most people will just up the portion size

if you want to build muscle then you want to be snacking regularly on high protein snacks, bodybuilders go for 6 meals a day, eating a high protein snack slightly increases the rate you build muscle for a short period of time after a work out for a window of about 48 hours, which is where we get back to pickled eggs being the ultimate food, you can snack on pickled eggs(boiled will work too if you are a pussy) and then eat 1 meal a day, which is currently how i eat, its snacks though out the day and 1 large meal, you should also be careful not to over do it on the phytoestrogens and look in to which foods boost testosterone

thank you. fwiw, using IF i can reliably report stomach shrinks and small meals fill up. do ck out dr. Fung, he’s one bright nephrologist.
